Pantone reveals a gem of a color for 2013

Pantone LLC, an X-Rite company and the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, has announced Pantone 17-5641 Emerald as the Color of the Year for 2013.

According to the company, “Emerald is a vivid, verdant green, and enhances our sense of well-being…by inspiring insight, as well as promoting balance and harmony.” In addition, Pantone says the perception of emerald is sophisticated and luxurious.

Emerald is sure to make an impact on eyes and nails this year, as Sephora and Pantone have once again announced a joint beauty collection that will highlight the featured color in a variety of products that will be available exclusively at Sephora starting in March.
